Downturn affected the labour market

The economic downturn affected the labour market in the world – including and in Lithuania. But we managed to overcome this challenge: at the end of 2010 stabilized public finances, arising economic indicators, and recovering export markets – all these stimulate demand of workers in Lithuania. Unemployment is falling, growing number of unoccupied jobs.

Occupations that are mostly in demand in the labour market are painters, carpenters and other construction workers, heavy truck and lorry drivers, salespeople, marketing professionals and sales managers.

Situation in Lithuanian labour market monitors the Labour Exchange (Darbo birza). It quarterly analysis labour demand and supply, predicts potential labour market trends, publishes lists of occupations in demand.
